Hudson / Hawk Barber & Shop Reviews

As a trans person, getting haircut can always be an adventure. You never know how you’ll be received or if your stylist understands what you’re asking for. But, I had such a good experience with Taylor Wilburn. She was very nice and gave me the exact cut I was looking for! She never made me feel awkward or exoticized even once! For any other queer people in the area who are nervous about getting a haircut, I can’t recommend her enough!

I went to Hudson Hawk looking as a potential job for me as well as to get a much needed haircut, I requested a blowout taper fade which ran me $51. During this $51 haircut, I was not shown a mirror until the end of the service, was not asked how much I would like off the top, was not asked how high i would like said fade, and when I requested that it be as low as possible, it still ended up being to a high fade, this makes above my ear look long and weird. The top was cut an inch and a half shorter than I would have wanted but she wouldn’t have known that because she never asked. Being someone in school for cosmetology and being someone who has done the haircut i requested. I would’ve been better of doing it myself and I think I will next time. Consultations are the most important part of the service and mine was showing a picture and then being told that it won’t look like that, I thought she meant because it’s photoshop so the fade won’t like like it’s airbrushed, which I knew because I’m not stupid. I didn’t expect to be given a completely different look to when I walked in. I wanted my side and back tapered in, that’s basically it, and she took it upon herself cut everything wayyyyy too short. The haircut isn’t symmetrical in the slightest, my legs were straight, back straight, pressed against the back of the chair, wasn’t sitting on my wallet either, this was technical error. If you’re cutting hair for 15 years it would be assumed that straight lines would be second nature. I was asked if i wanted it fixed because even another barber thought it looked funky, I replied no because i didn’t want her hands on my head anymore. I was not allowed to see my haircut until it was completely done, my chair was turned to the side so if i turned i would’ve messed up the haircut. Please please please have an actual consultation with your client, a picture is not enough for obvious reasons, if she would’ve asked me the simplest of questions my experience would’ve been 100x better. Instead i ended up hating my experience and the end result as a whole, if you go to Hudson Hawk be prepared to advocate for yourself. My service ended as it was being busy, I did not want to cause a scene and i was very mad, hence this review.

Hudson / Hawk has been a long favorite of mine. I have been going to them for as long as I can remember. The experience was always good. I was in at one point and had a hair stylest that seemed to be rushed and seemed to have a rough day. It's not common for that to happen. Upon the haircut being completed by the first stylist, the other stylist waiting on a client noticed that I was not satisfied with my current state. She was more than happy to help with my haircut and did the utmost to listen to my concerns. She (I wish I could say names for Recognition) is my barber now. In the future, I think that this experience is not a representation of the company, but more of that, we are all human.

Recommendations before choosing a Pressure Washing Service

Follow these 5 essential guidelines to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality exterior cleaning service:

1
Check the company’s reputation and customer reviews:

Look for pressure washing companies with positive Google, Yelp, and Facebook reviews. Real customer feedback will help you identify reliable and professional contractors.

2
Confirm what services are included:

Make sure you understand exactly what is covered in the price, such as house washing, driveway cleaning, roof soft washing, deck or fence cleaning, and whether detergents are included.

3
Ask about equipment and cleaning methods:

Verify if the company uses professional-grade equipment and appropriate techniques like soft washing for delicate surfaces to avoid property damage.

4
Verify licensing, insurance, and certifications:

Ensure the contractor is properly licensed to operate in the USA, carries general liability insurance, and follows local regulations to protect your property.

5
Request a written estimate and service agreement:

Always ask for a detailed written quote outlining pricing, scope of work, turnaround time, and any guarantees before hiring.
