We were on a cruise and didn't actually stop in the visitor center. We did do a nature excursion of the temperate rain forest. Our guide was a retired forest ranger and very knowledgeable about the area, the critters, the eagles, and definitely about the forest. It was a very nice excursion and we learned so much about the town of Haines, it's history, population, and surrounding forests and waters. Haines was a lovely little town with very nice people.
Nice stop the town really came out and ran shuttles from cruise ship dock on short notice. We have to change docks because of high winds and no room At Skagway docks.
