Just want to give a shoutout to Amtrak and say thanks for upgrading part of the train to Union Station! First time I've gotten to experience the new part, and while the cushions are pretty stiff, everything else is GREAT. Especially the heads of the chairs, wonderful! Get there 30 minutes early, if that. You literally just sit there and they checked my tickets in the train once we were already moving. It was clean and warm and it had bathrooms available. If anything the 30 minutes before are for piece of mind since they (the amtrak train people) are very punctual. This is also a historical site which is cool.
Easy access! There is limited parking, but we have never seen the lot full. The waiting room is only open at times coordinating with the Amtrak schedule.
